What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
On average my hourly rate is $85, if we are doing a full system change out I will provide a fixed bid for the work.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I need to learn a little about the project, typically over the phone, and get an idea if we are a good fit. At that point we can setup an in home estimate for the project. If the bid is accepted we will then work out a date to do the work, and I will let you know how long it should take. Typically a total system replacement can be done in one day.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my Master Mechanical and Master Plumbing License
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My Grandfather ran a prominent HVAC business in Kansas City, (still around) I learned the trade from the guys he taught. I started by working summers in middle school and have worked all ends of the buisness
What types of customers have you worked with?
Every type, been at this over 30 years. I work with builders, property managers, homeowners, etc…
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
All jobs bring something unique, I enjoy thinking outside the box and showing off my craftsmanship!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Get multiple bids, but make sure you are comparing apples to apples. sometimes a cheap service rate doesn’t tell the whole story when they overcharge on parts.
